About the location
In this guide I go over one of my favorite place- the Quintana Roo state of Mexico. This is the state that lies along the Caribbean sea. The blend of Caribbean beaches and "island time" paired with Mexican culture, hospitality and food is amazing. Just inland is rain-forest, Mayan ruins and fishing villages waiting to be explored. Along the coast are small cities boasting high end restaurants, shopping, nightlife and a proud Mexican art scene and just off shore lie the islands of Isla Mujeres and Cozumel. I touch on all these regions from places to stay (hostels, hotels, resorts and private villas) places to eat (from hole-in-the-wall local joints to special occasion spots) and some of my favorite things to see and do. Helping make your trip that much easier.
Guide Highlights
Isla Mujeres- get away from the crowds to this tiny island off the coast of Cancun where you can self explore by golf cart.
Playa del Carmen- head to this centrally located hub on the Rivera Mayan coast for some of the best food and shopping around.
Tulum- looking for a happening party spot popular with young social media influencers and a boho vibe? Look no further
Puerto Morelos- More interested in an off the beaten path fishing village? Try this spot on the coast line
